Our Purpose! We exist with the purpose of creating social wellness for Tangata Whai Ora (service users/consumers) in Otautahi (Christchurch) through the power of networking. It is our core belief that stronger whanaungatanga (relationships) increases our wellness and therefore we aim to build healthy partnerships between ourselves and the community with a place of equal standing for all. There are a number of initiatives currently in the community that use peer support as a core philosophy, support us to support others as this community grows.

Douglas Adams was not the only person to have an obsession with this number! We feel that it symbolises for us, everything that contributes to our wellbeing. Tangata Whai Ora (t.w.o.) is a NZ Maori word that can be translated as 'People Seeking Wellness', therefore to identify oneself as te Tangata Whai Ora is to recognise that one seeks wellness in life. The four key areas where people seek wellness are categorised by Sir Mason Durie in the model of Te Whare Tapa Wha (the house of four corners). These four areas of wellness are: Tinana, Hinengaro, Whanau, & Wairua. For te TWO captures the essence of acheiving wellness for people who seek it!
